Privacy Policy

Shikata Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) recognizes that it is a social responsibility of a company to handle personal information properly under the principle of protecting the rights and interests of individuals, and handles personal information in accordance with the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “the Policy”). The terms used in this Policy shall have the meanings ascribed to them in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

1. Items of Personal Information

We collect the following personal information.

  1. Information related to identity verification:
    Name, address, zip code, gender, date of birth, phone number, e-mail address, account ID and password, SNS account information, and information related to official identification such as driver’s license and resident certificate.
  2. Information acquired when using the service:
    Information obtained through the use of the service, including online identifiers such as cookies, device information, location information, browsing history and other information regarding the use of the service,
  3. Other information:
    Such as information related to inquiries and communications from the customer to the Company.
2. Purpose of Use

We will acquire and use your personal information within the scope of the following purposes of use (hereinafter referred to as the “Purposes of Use”):

  1. To authenticate the individual when registering for and using the Service, and to manage the individual;
  2. To prevent and respond to fraud, etc;
  3. To investigate and analyze marketing data, and to consider and implement marketing measures;
  4. To provide, solicit, advertise, and otherwise market the Company’s or third party’s products and services in accordance with your interests based on analysis of your attributes and behavioral history in the Company’s or third party’s media;
  5. To conduct campaigns, sweepstakes and surveys;
  6. To improve products and services, and to plan, research and develop new products and services;
  7. To respond to inquiries and to contact you; and
  8. To provide information to third parties in the manner described in this policy.
3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide your personal information to any third party without your consent except in the following cases:

  1. Cases in accordance with laws and regulations;
  2. Cases in which the provision of Personal Information is necessary to protect human life, health or property and obtaining the relevant individual’s consent is not possible;
  3. Cases in which there is a special need to enhance public health or promote the fostering of healthy children and obtaining the relevant individual’s consent is not possible;
  4. Cases in which it is necessary to cooperate with a governmental organization, a local government, or a person entrusted thereby to handle matters prescribed by laws and regulations and obtaining the relevant individual’s consent would interfere with the handling of such matters; and
  5. Cases in permitted by other laws and regulations.
4. Security Control Measures

We will endeavor to keep personal information accurate and up-to-date, and will take necessary and appropriate security control measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, leakage, etc.

5. Request for Disclosure etc. of Personal Information

We will disclose personal information without delay when requested to do so by the person in question. However, if disclosure would result in any of the following cases, we will not disclose all of the personal information:

  1. Cases in which disclosure is likely to harm the life, health, property, or other rights and interests of Data Subjects or a third party;
  2. Cases in which disclosure is likely to significantly interfere with the proper operation of the Company’s Services; and
  3. Cases in which disclosure would violate other laws and regulations.

In principle, we will not disclose any information other than personal information, such as access logs.

6. Correction of Personal Information

When a person requests the correction, addition or deletion of his or her personal information (hereinafter referred to as “correction”), the Company will, except where special procedures are prescribed by other laws and regulations, carry out the necessary investigation without delay to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use and, based on the results of the investigation, correct or delete the personal information and notify the person to that effect. The correction, etc. will be carried out and the person concerned will be notified to that effect.

7. Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a person requests the suspension of use of his or her personal information on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the previously announced purposes of use or that it has been obtained through deception or other wrongful means, the Company will carry out the necessary investigation and, based on the results, suspend the use of the personal information and notify the person to that effect. However, if it is difficult to suspend the use of the personal data, for example because it would cost a large amount of money to do so, and if alternative measures can be taken that are necessary to protect the rights and interests of the person in question, these alternative measures will be taken.
